Being Sue-Happy... Is It Regional?

Ah Virginia... the state I know and love. Beautiful, historic, and full of variety, but slack in the law suit department? Ever since I moved to NJ about six months ago I realized something about this state that differs from Virginia; everyone is all about getting their fellow man in court. Yes, there is a higher income bracket up here, but it is all comparable to VA by the numbers.... never the less, is it true that with more money there is more corruption?

Everyone thinks they can come out on top around here, that's why they're so quick to jump into a law suit, mainly because the lawyers are truly more knowledgeable the closer you get to New York and the surrounding areas. You'll see the occasional start up lawyer, but this is not an issue being that chances are he or she is a graduate of a highly esteemed law school, and or the product of a lineage of highly trained professionals.

This sue-happy issue brought me to ponder about different parts of our nation and how law suits effect the way of life for lawyers as well as normal people (everyone knows that lawyers aren't really people) in other areas. Lets take the west coast for example, a place I'm not going to even pretend I know anything about; California. A Corporate California Lawyer, (a Bay Area Lawyer or San Francisco Lawyer to be more precise) may experience a higher volume of clients being that the state of California is much more liberal than almost any other state, and the things ALLOWED in the court room are absolutely absurd.

When doing research on this matter, I came across a web site for Paul Marotta Corporate Law.
Paul Marotta, and the Paul Marotta Corporate Law Group is a California Franchise Lawyer firm that specializes in corporate law, mergers and acquisitions, securities law, intellectual property, etc, etc, etc. Not "This man kicked my dog now PETA and all my other vegan buddies are gonna shake him for every penny."

A lot of results came up for small-time lawyers that specialize in scenarios such as the one I just quoted. ....OK, not quoted because that would mean it would have had to have been said. Now I said it out loud, which makes it legitimate. Anyway, all of this leads me to believe that things are even worse, and people are even more sue-happy over there in CA, at least southern CA. The further north, the more normal, and the more you'll see a California Business Lawyer, instead of small time petty feud lawyer.

The point of all this, is that people are money hungry, and I would like to see more focus being made on actual problems instead of bickering and suing just to get a dime.
