Store Offers Handmade Bali Furniture

David Dann had a friend that got into the teak furniture business and eventually sold him on the concept. He rented a little space in the Orlando area and started selling to friends and family. Business is booming. Some is new production and some is antique pieces that are 100 years-plus old. Refinishing teak furniture is a very satisfying experience. Restoring teak furniture is a fairly easy project, and the results are extremely gratifying. Teak restoration brings the piece back to its former glorious splendor.

Dann hand buys all of his stuff. There's no factory or anything. They all do it on dirt floors in these little villages and beach towns, and they all make different stuff. The furniture reflects Asian, Indian and Dutch Colonial influences, he said, and is in solid teak. For antique pieces that show a little wear, teak refinishing will restore a piece of antique outdoor furniture from lackluster to magnificent in just an afternoon.
